The Heart of Oklahoma Corvette Club will hold its monthly Corvette cruise for members and guest on December 9th, 2023. The cruise will take HOCC to Medicine Park and the Plantation Restaurant for lunch before entering the Wichita Mountain Refuge. Once inside the National Wildlife Refuge, the cruise will include Mount Scott and a visit to the Holly City along with other points of interest within the Refuge.

Route:

Head west on Highway 9 to Highway 44, take Highway 44 towards Lawton and take exit 45 to Highway 49. Take Highway 49 west to West Lake Dr. Take W. Lake Dr. to Auto Bridge Rd. Then take a left onto E. Lake Dr. to the Old Plantation Restaurant.

Schedule:

8:30 am – Meet at Riverwind Casino, west parking lot.

8:50 am – Depart.

10:45 am – Arrive at The Old Plantation Restaurant.

11:00 am to 12:15 pm – Lunch.

12:15 – 4:00 pm – Visit the Wichita Mountains.

4:00 pm – Leave for Home.

Wichita Mountains Refuge Points of Interest:

Mount Scott, Holly City, and Lake Jed Johnson Observation. There are many places to visit within the refuge. A discussion will be held both during the drivers meeting at Riverwind and just after lunch at the Old Plantation to discuss cruise options. Upon completion of our cruise, it is highly recommended to exit the park on Meers Rd/115 to NW Meers Porter Hill Rd. onto 277 to Elgin and Highway 44 to get back home. This portion of the drive is very scenic.
